Hello. I’m 45 used-to-be fit; triathlons, weight training, snowboarding, before kids, business, and multiple surgeries from injuries. I’ve let myself go a bit and promised myself I’d get strong again. Right now I’m recovering from ankle surgery and want to use this time as an opportunity to build upper body while I off my feet for next 6 weeks. Use this as a kick start to get healthy again. Thanks in advance! Any suggestions?

arnoldjent It would be a good time to dial in on your diet. plan your meals and set yourself up for your caloric deficit. good luck with your recovery.

fitafter45 Just do it! You know what you can and can’t do - do what you can! I started 45 never-was fit. No regrets!

LostNatureGirl I’m a fairly new runner that just started strength training this year. I’ve really enjoyed working on pull-ups, chin-ups, dips; Simple and difficult, no added weight, works on posture and grip, heavy consequences for overeating. ✌️

wu1ver definitely agree about diet, been there myself with two kids. running doesn't really work out for me. and with your ankle injury I'd say core and upper body

donofvan I’m in a similar situation. There a lots of pre-made upper body workout on here. Pick one if you don’t want to make your own and set some small goals. Good luck.
